Free Software hacktivist and political science student looking for an internship from June 2010

Education

2009-2010 Bachelor degree (expected), Institute of Political Studies known as Sciences Po (Paris) – 3rd Year Abroad.

Sciences Po is a highly selective University with an academic focus that spans not only political studies but also human and social sciences, law and economics.
After my Bachelor degree, I would like to persue my scholarship at Sciences Po by taking a master degree in Law, specialized in “Intellectual Property”–more specifically in copyright in the digital era.

Professional Experience

09/2009→ 05/2010 Assistant to the President at Free Software Foundation Europe, Berlin.

Policy work at the European and United Nations level. Policy analysis, preparing briefings for the President. Participation in FSFE's delegation to the World Intellectual Property Organisation, liasing with government delegations and non-governmental organisations.

Independent, efficient and effective work in a dynamic, high-pressure environment. Support on both substance and logistics to FSFE's Freedom Task Force, including the world's largest network of legal experts on Free Software. Development and execution of PR campaigns. Blogging in English and French, public speaking, web design, translation work.

July 2008 Auchan, supermarket in La Défense (European business district near Paris): four weeks internship.
June 2005 I-Puzzle, e-marketing agency in Roubaix (north of France): two weeks internship. Web conception department (PHP/XHTML/CSS).

Voluntary Commitments

2008-Present
  • Responsible for the Digital Freedoms Association recognized by Sciences Po. We organize conferences and actions to raise debates among students and unions about digital stakes, including software freedom, which we promote within the university.
  • Active member of the April the leading association for Free Software in France since 1996.
2007-Present Secretary and Projects coordinator of Association Nainwak, an association of free web games. We took part in the Paris video-games festival six times already. I am the webmaster and I lead our “Going mobile” project.

Computer Skills

I regularly use Office (OpenOffice.org; bases for LateX.) I have designed many xhtml/css websites and I have notions for php. I can work on GNU-Linux (Gnome Desktops or KDE), Windows and Mac OS.

Hobbies & Interests

Since 2005, I have been developing a free web game (based on php.) I am currently leading the project, which 3rd version is about to be released in 2010. You can visit a public version.
I have been playing the guitar for five years. I enjoy listening to rock music and jazz but also classical music. My favorite artists and composer are Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, J.S. Bach, Sergey Rachmaninov, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Serge Gainsbourg.
I have a particular interest in the political cinema from the 60s and 70s especially in France, Italy and the United States. Among my favorite directors, there are J.L. Godard, F.F. Coppola, A. Jodorowsky, S. Leone, S. Kubrick.
